Love the Life

This is the slogan for the town we are staying in, Luverne, MN, and I think that sums things up pretty well. We had a wonderful stay in Mukwonaga, WI (about 30 min from Milwaukee) with our friends. They were wonderful hosts and spoiled us with many different Wisconsin specialties- meats, cheese, cheese curds, brats, beer, and kringles, oh my! We loved it all. The kids had a great time playing with friends and we were sad to leave. We did stop at the Mars Cheese Castle and explored all things Wisconsin. We had to get a picture with cheese hats on! We stayed a night in La Crosse, WI. It was rainy for most of our visit in WI but on the last day the sun came out and we had a nice time at a large park. Then we made our way to Luverne, MI, and were planning on a quick one night stay but we loved the town and people so much we decided to stay another night. We stayed at the brewery, Take 16, the first night. They are very family friendly and we played lots of games. We met some local farmers and the owner of the brewery set us up for an oil change in town today. Everyone knows everyone, it’s a hoot! For the second night, we found a RV campsite just outside town with a bike path that leads right through some parks and to the brewery. The locals gave us some recommendations for outings today and we made it out the the “House of Sky” Prairie. They told us about a ‘waterfall’ we should hike to- MN is beautiful but very flat. As we were driving, we thought, how is there going to be a waterfall? Well, we “hiked” to it and it was more like a riffle in a stream but it was beautiful. We visited the library and Rye and Maddie did some fishing. Ben made a new friend at the campground and they are playing with their cars. Tonight, the town is having a “block party” at the brewery with live music. We are looking forward to it!
